Camping

Sunday we went to the zoo to meet Evan. Thought it would be nice now that the Oscars are over. ( BTW, check out the trailer. ) It was 75 degrees and everyone had the exact same idea. We drove around the zoo for an hour trying to find a spot and finally had to go home not having seen any giant salamanders.
Daddy said "lets go camping". Mommy forgot that Monday was Casimir Pulaski Day since she teaches in Missouri. We made a quick grocery trip (all the essentials- hotdogs, marshmallows, Cheetos, dip, strawberry milk) and went home to throw everything together.
I remembered to bring my friends, Grover, the polar bear, and warthog.

We set up the tent and got our fire going.

Here I am demonstrating the most dangerous way to eat a hotdog.

I warmed up my strawberry milk in the camping cup. Just the thing to dip my Cheetos in. The camping cup made it especially easy for Grover to drink my milk.

Playing in the tent is the best part about camping.

The best part was getting into the sleeping bag I got for Christmas from Papa Mike.

The next day it was below freezing after raining all night long so we warmed up the car and packed up for home.

Fun with Confederates!

Evan and I went eagle watching on Monday. Binoculars are a tough thing for a 3 & bespectacled 4 year old to work so we didn't have as much success as the grown-ups seeing the eagles. But we had lots of fun learning, running, crafting, and playing at the Melvin Price Lock and Dam no. 26 and the ruins of the Confederate Prison in Alton, IL.

My Friend Erin

My mom took me to visit my friend Erin. She has the coolest stuff! Erin has a gray, furry, shy cat named Tyrone, lots and lots of fish, hot chocolate, a little fuzzy deer, and a Gumby doll. I had a great time! Thanks Erin!

Another Restaurant!

Why is it that grown-ups always want to eat out? I could eat chicken nuggets and mac & cheese everyday at home. All I'm sayin' is why change a good thing? Anyway, we went to Chava's in Soulard last night to meet my friend Faith and her parents and their friend Suzy. Faith and I drew and colored the whole night! It was a blast!

Child Labor

Daddy is working on the basement and I got to help him paint the walls. Turns out, I'm a regular ol' Rembrandt. Who knew?

Snow Day!

There's a new day I just learned about. It's called Snowday. It comes after Thursday where Friday should normally be. On Snowday you don't go to school or work. You eat soup, play doll house, and go sledding in the park with your parents. Then you go out to eat. This past Snowday we went to Art Hill. You can see lots of other people celebrated that way.
I finally got to wear the Pinkalicious snowsuit I got from my aunt Andrea!

Sledding takes a good deal of trudging

but it's worth it.

I went with my dad several times before I went all by myself.
Later we warmed up at the Boathouse where we watched the ducks fly in for the night as the Sun set.
