I mentioned in the big 2016 overview post that our school participates in a program called Dancing Classrooms. Every year, the 5th graders at my school get to learn how to ballroom dance. After the instructors from the program have taught us all the dances, they, along with our teachers, select the top two dancers for each dance and two alternates. These dancers represent our school in a competition that includes all the participating schools in the area. I was selected as an alternate dancer for the Rumba. We placed 2nd at the competition, which isn't bad but we normally get 1st place so we were kinda sad and disappointed. But, it was still a lot of fun!
